Mental Health America cites data that more than 6 million men in America experience symptoms of depression and more than 2 million experience an anxiety disorder. And yet, fewer men seek mental health support than women, much less to openly talk about it with peers. Tony Johannsen is a Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Men’s Behavior Change Facilitator and one our Workplace Mental Health Specialists at WMHI. He is also a Musician, very much into rock and roll which is a common area of interest for men so when he became counsellor, understanding the men's space where there's substance abuse and family violence. It was a natural path for Tony to work towards supporting and assisting men, helping them understand the root cause of some issues if it stems from a mental health problem while trying to mitigate negative effects of these issues such as getting into trouble with law or the legal system.</p>]]></description>
