Principles and culture are closely intertwined.
Do you know what your principles are? Principles are not what you say you they are, they are what you stick to over time.
What do others know you for? What do you stand up for? That’s what your culture is.
It’s no accident that some workplaces have a toxic culture and that some people, are toxic people.
See, many organisations, and individuals, are not congruent with their stated principles. When the going gets tough, they check out. But your culture, that culture by which you are known for, demands consistency. And you are always, always, building your culture.
Stick to your principles and you’ll have a culture to be proud of. Eventually, others will rally behind you.
