Sometimes, if you are like other people, the last person to notice that you’ve sold out, is yourself. Sold out on your values, your dreams, your passions, your ethics.

We get busy. We get distracted. We get persuaded to ways of looking at the world, by people that don’t have the best intentions. We get seduced by ‘success’. And then one day you wake up and there’s this feeling in the pit of your stomach. And you don’t know why. You’ve been blinded so well, you can’t see what’s obvious. I know. I did that myself. I’d sold out and I didn’t know. I forgot what was really important to me, my own values, and I had to go on a journey to discover those anew.

Notice I say YOUR own values. Many people don’t know what those are. They’ve completely given that responsibility over to others. I guess it’s quicker. They give that responsibility away to an ‘expert’ or ‘authority’, or the media, or any other established institution.

If you have trouble understanding what I mean, all you need to do is look at the state of affairs right now.
